    Mark Ward

    Mark Ward has been an attorney with the Kansas State Department of Education for the past 19 years. His primary duties with the department are providing technical assistance to the department, school officials, advocacy groups, and parents with regard to special education legal matters. He also coordinates the state’s special education dispute resolution processes, which include due process hearings, formal complaints and mediation. Mark is also a former Kansas high school teacher and holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling. For ten years, he and his wife, Julie, were Family Teachers at Boys Town, in Nebraska. There, he worked direction with boys who were experiencing difficulty at home and school, in a family setting.

    Deborah McVey

    Deborah McVey is a Master’s level consultant for the Kansas Technical Assistance System Network where she provides technical assistance and training on the Kansas statute and Kansas State Board of Education regulations regarding Emergency Safety Interventions, as well as IEP development and evaluation and eligibility for special education. She has also spent nearly 30 years as a school psychologist  in various states. From 2010 to 2013, Deborah was a project specialist on the Kansas MTSS core team. She also served as a project coordinator for the K-STARS Project SPOT for 15 years.

    Super cheap Registration fees: $5 for members $ 15 for non-members

    Kansas Association of School Psychologists (KASP) is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists to offer continuing education for school psychologists.  KASP maintains responsibility for the program.

    KASP is a NASP approved provider of CPDs.   KASP is approved provider #1030

    Please join us for the 4th Annual KASP Southeast Kansas Regional Meeting!  The 2017 SKRM will be held from 9am - 3pm.  The location will remain the same; we'll meet at the Greenbush Education Service Center just outside of Girard, KS.  We will also continue the tradition of having our meeting on the Thursday of School Psychology Awareness Week (SPAW); this year the event will be held on Thursday, November 16th, 2017.

    Topics Include:

    2. Project STAY
    3. BaSES
    4. CHAMPS


    Cost of attendance is $15, which includes the cost of lunch and snacks.  Practicing school psychologists and graduate students in school psychology are the target audience.  However, registration is open to others, as long as space allows.
